Talbot takes home Silver Salver

A smaller turnout than expected due to the wet weather we had last week and some players receiving invites to South Africa but a good day nonetheless. Congratulations to Mark Talbot of Thorpe Hall took home the prize after a steady round of 67. Thanks to our main sponsor of the day CS Physio who are currently offering a first free appointment to anyone who mentions this website.

Thank you to those who made it and look forward to having a bigger field next year.

Exclusive Interview with Matthew

So, today we're bringing you an exclusive interview with Matt on his thoughts on the past season and what he's looking forward to next year.

What was your highlight of the season?

The highlight of my season is a tough desicion... Since I was good enough to play for a team I have always thought that it is more fun when you are part of a winning team rather than just for yourself. I have had a couple of fantastic experiences this year by myself or with Caddy Ben. Moments I'll remember forever but I don't think they match up to that incredible Essex win in the county finals.

To win with the boys that I have grown up playing golf with is incredible. It is all well and good playing for a top flight team like the Ryder Cup or Walker Cup but to win with your bestest friends is, for me, an unbeatable feeling.

What was your best shot of the season?

There were two shots in contention for this.... and they were both on the same hole in the same round!!!!!!

Under 21 League Final

Matt will be representing Essex again this week in the Under 21 League Finals against Kent at Barton-on-Sea Golf Club.

He goes straight from this match in Southampton to Woodhall Spa where the England A Squad will be training altogether for the first time since the new players were invited to the squad.

Slam Dunk at Thorpe

Matt had a hole in one at the 7th hole at Thorpe Hall yesterday. It didn't bounce, it went straight in the hole hence why it's called a slam dunk! whoop... with a 5 iron for those who like to know these things.
